Albert Castillo is the director of business and financial development at San Antonio Eye Center and the executive director of South Texas Total Eye Care. Albert also serves as the OOSS Member Services Consultant. Albert has 12 years' experience in ophthalmology and has presented on many business topics important to the ophthalmic profession. He is currently helping more than 40 ophthalmologists in the San Antonio area with many aspects of practice and financial management both in clinical and ASC settings. Albert is a former board chair of the American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives and a former board member of the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society. He has a bachelor's degree in management and accounting.
Denise Fridl, COT, COE, OCS, is the chief performance officer of Asheville Eye Associates where she has worked for over 20 years. Denise oversees the operations and performance for nine offices, 18 doctors and 178 staff using the principles of "lean management" and "process improvement management." Denise has presented at Academy conferences on EHR implementation, meaningful use and "lean management." She has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina, Asheville, and is certified in "process improvement management."
Lou Sheffler is the co-founder and chief operation officer of American SurgiSite Centers, a consulting, management and software services company. He is responsible for all clinical operations of multiple outpatient surgical centers in the Northeast. Prior to co-founding American SurgiSite Centers, Lou served as president of Medical Consulting and Supply Group and unit management administrator at Englewood Hospital, both in N.J. Lou is a graduate of C W Post College in N.Y. where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Hospital Administration. Lou serves on the Board of Directors of OOSS.
